It’s fast approaching competition season and Turf Games in Dubai is just around the corner, bringing an electric atmosphere of competition and teamwork to the city. This is an ideal competition to train for and compete in whether you’re a first timer or a seasoned pro, being ready for these competitions and the movements that they test is key. At Spirit Level Gym, we’re here to help you get there.
Turf Games demands a broad skill set. You’ll need strength, speed, endurance, and technical skill, all while working seamlessly with your teammates. That’s why our programming focuses on two of the major skill categories you’ll face: gymnastics and Olympic lifting. On the gymnastics side, we’ll help you develop smooth, efficient pull ups and toes-to-bar, building the grip strength, core stability, and coordination needed to string reps together even under fatigue. We’ll also fine-tune your double unders, helping you find rhythm and consistency so there’s no tripping up on the day.
For Olympic lifting, we break down the technique for cleans, shoulder-to-overhead, and front squats so you can lift safely and to the best of your ability. Historically these movements have repeatedly been programmed at events so naturally will be included in our programming. Our coaches focus on mobility, movement, and barbell efficiency—ensuring every lift is both powerful and technically sound, even under fatigue or when the clock is ticking down and the you’re feeling the pressure!
Having said this, Turf Games is about more than just execution of movements — it’s a team event. Our group training sessions are designed to replicate that environment. You’ll work alongside others, learning how to communicate and create a game plan that works towards your team’s strengths. The ability to move as one and understand each other can make the difference between a good performance and a great one.
We also place a huge emphasis on building your “engine”, the capacity that lets you keep pushing through the toughest parts of each workout. Expect challenging conditioning sessions that improve your endurance, ability to sustain a “red line pace” as well as improving recovery rates. This will prepare you to handle whatever combination of movements and timings Turf Games events entail.
